Chantel Riley Talks “My Journey”, “The Lion King” and New Biopic
Chantel Riley, the Canadian born Broadway beauty talks exclusively to Steven McCoy about her road to superstardom. Chantel Riley currently plays Nahla in Disney’s “The Lion King” on Broadway at the Minskoff Theatre in New York City. The singing sensation was destined to live the life she had always dreamed but revealed it was not always as glamorous as it seems now. From working a 9-5 office job to doing 8 shows per week on Broadway. It’s a known fact that low self-esteem is something that millions of people around the world suffer from and are trying to overcome. Chantel is using her voice and public platform in such a powerful and strategic way to reach out to not only her fans but people in general that is once who she used to be. Chantel recently launched a YouTube channel where she shares her most private thoughts with her angelic voice singing and poetically narrating her story. She published an artistic craft and sketch-like video that visually tells her story of her journey.
“Finding Peace”, “Mirror”, and “Aloneness” are all written and produced by James Brown Orleans who plays Banzai in “The Lion King” on Broadway. In each song Chantel narratives her story before she jumps into signing them out. “Every tear that breaks, every time you ache, every smile you fake, I’ve been there too.”, a line she sings letting people know she’s been there. Each song takes you on an emotional journey but yet also gives one the feeling of empowerment because the stories of millions of people around the world Chantel lyrics reflects its inspirational to see its coming from someone who has overcome those hurdles and is now living life proudly. With each song being a chapter of each emotion and amazing narration Chantel’s “My Journey” has the potential to become a musical in itself as each story flows into the next.
