On Sunday, Chris Pratt and Anna Faris announced they’re separating after an eight-year marriage. The couple sparked shock after being one of Hollywood’s favorite and most popular couples.
Chris Pratt stars in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” and Faris, stars on CBS’s comedy “Mom.” The couple has been married since 2009 and has a four-year old son.
In a confirmed statement by Pratt’s publicist, the actors announced their separation on social media.
“We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed, our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have deepest respect for one another.”
Chris Pratt and Anna Faris reached Twitter headlines, where the couple originally shared their message to the public.
Throughout their relationship the couple sure reached individual successes. In 2016, Chris Pratt was ranked by Forbes as one of Hollywood’s highest-paid actors. His ranking reached $26 million with his star roles in “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Jurassic Park.”
Anna Faris reportedly makes $125,000 per episode for her hit sitcom, which recently wrapped up after it’s 22-episode season.
It has not clearly been stated if the couple signed a prenup prior to their marriage. Legal experts say, if there was no prenup the couple would be at a financial disaster.
Jason Hopper, a practice manager at Cordell & Cordell law firm in Sacramento stated the Chris Pratt might be at risk for loosing his earnings if there is no prenup, since most of his success came in the recent years during their marriage.
“While both Mr. Pratt and Ms. Faris had Hollywood success before their marriage and likely brought significant assets into the marriage, Mr. Pratt has enjoyed his greatest box office paydays during the marriage, which could likely lead to Ms. Faris having a very strong claim to a portion of Mr. Pratt’s earning incurred during their marriage,” said Jason Hopper.
In 2016, Anna Faris said in an interview with Fix News, “Make sure that you find a partner who really, really loves you and respects you and cares for you, and I feel like Chris is all those things, but it just took a minute.”
