Verglas who has shot countless magazine covers for Vogue, Sports Illustrated, Elle and Cosmpolitan captured the blonde beauty sans clothing all in the name of charity. A portion of calendar sales will benefit hurricane relief both in the U.S. and abroad including The Peace Fund (https://www.thepeacefund.org) and Fonkoze (http://www.fonkoze.org). “We knew that wearing bathing suits would create a fashion focus so we opted to go au naturale, with an emphasis on the human form and its natural balance with the surrounding environment”, explains Kuzmina.

The Russian born blonde started her professional career at 14 while walking in a show for Yves St. Laurent in Paris and since she has worked for such top designers as Christopher Bailey, Guy Laroche, Isabel Marant and Giorgio Armani. She has starred in campaigns for Cartier, Lancaster Cosmetics, Neiman Marcus, Miss Me Jeans, L’Oreal and Wella.

The model and photographer have worked together on a number of high fashion assignments over the years, always talking about doing an original collaboration. The calendar seemed to be the right vehicle at the right time for the dynamic duo. “It was a pleasure to once again work with the lovely Eugenia on an island that I cherish so much. Eugenia is a fantastic model and her generosity, beauty and kindness really show through in the photographs, says Verglas.

The actual calendar shoot happened just weeks before horrible hurricanes destroyed so much of the Caribbean, including portions of St. Barts, making disaster relief a natural fit for the charitable aspect of the project. “I wanted the calendar to reflect a human synergy with the earth and sea. We are a part of this world just as much as it is apart of us, therefore we must honor its beauty and offer our love and protection, says Kuzmina.

The Eugenia Kuzmina 2018 Calendar went on sale at the beginning of November and sold out in less than two weeks.
