“The Fosters” Cast Teases Season 5The Fosters
The Fosters cast teases season 5. Host/ Producer Steven McCoy was invited on set to come sit down exclusively with The cast members of the show Teri Polo, Sherri Saum, Danny Nucci, Noah Centineo, Maia Mitchell, and David Lambert. The cast not only gives a first look into what season 5 will be like but also gives us a glimpse of what really goes on behind the scenes on the set of “The Fosters”.
Danny Nucci explains how his character will be getting into more drama as he jokes about how the kids on set says The Fosters should produce a spinoff titled “Cry Harder Mike!” because this season the storylines involvement with his character is going to take more turns on a rollercoaster than any previous season. That will be the case for each cast member.
When speaking with Maia Mitchell who plays the role as Callie, what we found was a completely different person. Mitchell speaks on how she is different from her character and despite the fact that she enjoys playing Callie, she says she does get frustrated at times at Callie for focusing on too much. She tells us what progress she would like to see in her character moving forward. She explains that season 5 Callie gets her wake up call and values herself way more than she’s ever had. We’re sure fans will be excited to see a new and improved Callie!
David Lambert spoke with us about how his role will be evolving this season. Lambert told us how his character Brandon pretty much suffers from the oldest child syndrome. Brandon always feels the need to help and protect everyone. He spills the beans on how we can expect the relationship between Brandon and AJ will grow more this season. He reveals a behind the scenes secret that although he’s been playing the piano for 7 years now, it isn’t always him that is playing that it sometimes is edited and produced by production. Lambert also talks about Brandon’s relationship with Callie this season as he lets the fans know they’ll always have a special bond but as of right now each character remains in their own worlds which we’ll be able to see this season.
Noah Centineo’s character Jesus probably went through the most this past season, just the thought that the character could’ve lost his life. Fans were not sure if the character would actually pull through. Centineo talks to us on how he mentally prepared for this season which he states that there wasn’t any major preparation which is completely astonishingly impressive considering he had to pull out deep emotions for this character. When asked who is his go to person for advice he says that he can go to anyone of the cast members but he says that David Lambert is who he hangs with the most off set so David it is! As if last season couldn’t get any more emotional, Centineo says fans can expect more emotional breakdowns from his character Jesus but that there will be growth and recovery.
We caught up with the head households of the show Teri Polo and Sherri Saum who both plays Stef and Lena Foster, the moms of the show. The women were both in great spirits on set. We spoke on everything about their accomplishments on being the first two women to receive the HRC Ally for Equality Award. Teri being the 1st and Sherri being the 2nd. Despite the success of the show they spoke on how sometimes there are at times disagreements behind the scenes but they all genuinely love and respect each other so much that it works and that it’s truly a family. Saum explains how rare it is in the entertainment business to have a cast that are like family. They both talk about what they’re most proud of about the show.
Season 5 of “The Fosters” return July 11th 8pm EST on Freeform.
