Tampa based Field Of Dreams rapper JG premieres his brand new music video “My Side” on Vevo. The breezy new single off his upcoming 3 Feet From Gold EP is already a fan favorite on hometown radio stations, with early support from Tampa’s 95.7 The Beat, Power 106.1 and Orlando’s WPRK 91.5. Produced by Taylor King, JG reaffirms his no holds bar entrance in the rap game while also warning haters to watch their females. The Andrew Perrier Films directed music video peels away the hype and glam to reveal JG’s raw and authentic narrative.
JG – My Side
“I just kept hearing a lot of noise in the city from rappers talking about they were this or that,” says JG. “I wanted to hop on a record and state my piece on it. I feel like I’ve been getting overlooked by some people, for whatever reason, and this was my way of going at those people who maybe just been sleeping or haven’t taken the time to hear what I was trying to say.”
“Taylor King cooked up a dope beat and the hook just came right to me. It felt good. So it started out as just some wavy feel good music,” says JG of their collaboration. “Then as the song progressed I wanted to give people more of a transparent view of me, touching on my dad’s drug problem and us growing up poor…I took it as a chance to deliver a little bit of why I have this chip on my shoulder.”
“My Side” is the second single released from his 3 Feet from Gold EP. His ominous lead-off single “Birds In LA” with Atlanta’s Rich The Kid was featured on HipHopDX, Trap and Bass, WorldStarHipHop, dubCNN and more. JG’s debut EP, 3 Feet From Gold, will be released later this year on independent Field of Dreams Entertainment.
