Queen Latifah is often considered hip-hop’s first lady. Her debut single, “Wrath of My Madness,” was released in 1988. A year later, her debut long-player, “All Hail the Queen,” enjoyed favored reviews. One of the most prominent female hip-hop artists on the scene for over a decade, Latifah has also made tremendous inroads in movies, television, and artist management, with her management company, Flavor Unit.
We all know Latifah as the personality in front of the camera but this year she spent most of her time behind the scenes as she executive produced several shows such as The Perfect Match, The Art of Organized Noize, The Real MVP: The Wanda Durant Story and VH1 Hip Hop Honors: All Hail The Queens to name a few.
