Susan Sarandon is one of Hollywood’s biggest icons and the Rocky Horror Picture Show is what put her on the map as she stepped into the role of Janet Weiss. It’s hard to not sing your heart out to “Planet Schmanet Janet” and say the iconic lines, “You better wise up, Janet Weiss.”
Susan Sarandon will be on a new TV series.
With broadcast networks following the live TV musical trend, Fox is getting ready to roll out their television version of Rocky Horror, with Laverne Cox stepping into the high heeled shoes of Dr. Frank-n-Furter, which was originally played by Tim Curry. The actor is set to make a special appearance as the Criminologist.
And even though no one can replace the original cast, Fox seems to know what they’re doing after the success of Grease Live! Victoria Justice and Ryan McCartan will play the film’s cutest and most dysfunctional couple Janet Weiss and Brad Majors. And it looks like Susan Sarandon will have her popcorn ready because she says she’s excited to see it.
We caught up with Susan Sarandon at Clayton Kershaw’s annual Ping Pong 4 Purpose charity event where she was more than thrilled about Fox’s adaptation of Rocky Horror. “I can’t wait to see it,” she said.
“I think “Don’t Dream It, Be It” is a wonderful message, and I look forward to seeing it.” We couldn’t agree more with the 69-year-old actress. Even though she’ll be watching the cult classic film just like the rest of us, Susan Sarandon is getting ready to join Jessica Lange on the small screen for a new TV series – Feud.
The show centers around the legendary feud between two of Hollywood’s most iconic actresses, Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. The Thelma and Louise star will play iconic actress Bette Davis while Jessica Lange will step into the role of Joan Crawford. The series is set for a 2017 release.
