Wash On His Musical Journey

Wash On Upcoming Album

Interscope Records recording artist Wash caught up with Entertainment Scoop’s Kiki Ayers to discuss his musical journey, “Can’t Trust Thots,” and his upcoming album.

The Port Arthur, Texas native credited his parents for his versatility in music. In addition to singing the young artist raps, dances, plays the drums and keyboard.

“When I was younger all I heard from my mother was Antita Baker and my pops listened to the Sly & The Family Stone,” he said. “I was just able to adapt to those styles and create my own.”

The 24 year-old musician explained that the inspiration behind “Cant Trust Thots” came from a girl in his hometown that use to talk to him until he found she was messing with his cousin. Despite the unfortunate reasoning for the song, the single featuring French Montana has been a success. The music video for “Can’t Trust Thots,” recently hit over 3 million views on YouTube.

Though Wash couldn’t tell us the next single to be released he did explain that it most likely won’t sound anything like “Can’t Trust Thots.” Him and management do have a top 3 list of singles one of of those will be the next one. He said there’s a lot of sides of him and we’ll hear it through the music.

His debut album is expected to be released later this year. Wash said he has been working non stop but is very thankful to be doing what he loves.

“I can’t complain. Everyday is a blessing,” he said. “Everyday is surreal just to look outside and see this vs what I’m use to seeing back home.”
