Has it been nine months already? The hushed Lifetime movie finally has a due date. A new trailer released today revealed that the premiere date of “A Deadly Adoption” is less than two weeks away.

In the short 20 second teaser trailer we are introduced to the surrogate mother played by Jessica Lowndes of “90210” fame. “We could have everything,” Lowndes’ character said in the trailer. “We could have had a happy life together. You’re a selfish coward and a liar — just like the rest of them.” Spooky.
The project first came to light on April Fool’s day this year after it was leaked by the press. The internet collectively considered a spoof. The day following the leak, Will Ferrell announced that the project would be abandoned.
“We are deeply disappointed that our planned top-secret project was made public. Kristen and I have decided it is in the best interest for everyone to forgo the project entirely, and we thank Lifetime and all the people who were ready to help us make this film.” — Will Ferrell
But today we can confirm that the “Deadly Adoption” will go through. The Lifetime movie is being directed by Rachel Goldenberg who has produced and directed”mockbluster” gems such as “Transmorphers: Fall of Man,” “Sunday School Musical” and “Sherlock Holmes” which had dinosaurs, dragons, robots and kraken.
The production company Goldenberg has collaborated the most with is The Asylum — best known for releasing the spoof hit “Sharknado.” It’s not hard to see why some people couldn’t believe Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig’s “A Deadly Adoption” was anything more than a joke.
