Six College Party Themes You’ll Want to Try | Scoop Sorority

A college party. Remember those?

Now that the world is opening back up, it’s only fair that you’re starting to think about all of the different ways in which you can fill up your social calendar. After all, you have to make up for all of the lost time last year, right?

If you’re in college, let me speak your language — parties. We all know that you only get to experience college once, so we are bound and determined to help you do it the right way, and that involves having fun!

Below are six party themes that will surely breathe some life into your next semester!

Murder Mystery

Who doesn’t love a good murder mystery?

This theme will be sure to captivate the attention of everyone attending, while providing the opportunity to get all of the guests involved. Depending on what you prefer, this theme could work well for a big crowd, or a more intimate style gathering. You can completely make up the story line yourself, or you can base the night off of a game like Clue.

Earn brownie points by whipping up a murder mystery cocktails like a crime of passion.

Throwing it Back

If you miss your old low rise jeans and shutter shades, now is your chance! Make an excuse to wear those dated styles with a theme dedicated to throwing it back!

Due to the vagueness, this theme allows everyone to play with their own interpretation.

Do you secretly wish you could be a 1920s flapper girl? Do you dream of dressing like your favorite 90s cartoon character? Or, maybe rock and roll is more of your style. Whatever the case may be, this is the night to make your throwback dream come true.

If you ‘re the host, make sure to have a playlist full of hits from  different eras to make for a nostalgic and unexpected night.

Bad and Boujee

Channel your inner Migos with a luxurious bad and boujee themed night. For this rendezvous, guests are expected to show up in no less than their very best.

This fun theme will bring the heat and provide a great opportunity for glammed-up photos, so make sure your decorations are as picture perfect as your guests.

If you’re ready for an unforgettable night you may not remember, you can easily turn the night into a “bad and boozy” party by providing fun drinks that are a little more boujee than White Claws and beer.  Either way, this party will be sure to make your friends feel like they are on the A-list!

Girls Night In

If you aren’t in the mood to go out, that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun! Invite your besties over and have a girl’s night in.

Instead of going out, put together a charcuterie board and open a bottle of wine while you do a paint and sip. Or, you could just chill in your pajamas while sporting a face mask, watching “The Bachelorette.” The possibilities are endless, but this is a reminder that you can still have a lot of fun without going out!

Anything but Clothes

I’m sure you’ve guessed it by the name; this party requires you to wear anything but actual clothing! This creates for a fun and exciting night where everyone dresses themselves in plastic bags, caution tape, shower curtains, literally anything!

The costume ideas  are truly endless. For this theme, the decorations  aren’t as important, besides all of the eyes are on the outfits anyways! Time to put your creativity to the test!

When I Grow Up

This party theme showcases your future occupation, you know, kind of the whole reason you’r in college anyways. Dressing like your dream job will be a great way to revive those hopes and aspirations that your last math exam may have crushed, all while having fun at the same time!

If you have a closed guest list for this party, try to customize drinks and appetizers specifically for them! Syringe shots anyone?
