Bella Thorne ‘Lucky Girl’ Music Video Too Risqué for YouTube

Bella Thorne lashes out against YouTube after they take down her explicit “Shake It” music video. Her video was removed from the platform for violating guidelines with its provocative scenes and “explicit content.”

The “Shake It” music video features scenes of Thorne and adult film star, Abella Danger

Video Removed

Early after its premiere, YouTube removed the video for “explicit content.” The girls were “getting naughty in lingerie,” according to The Blast, however, there was no nudity.

After the platform removed her video, Thorne slammed YouTube with an Instagram post, accusing them of ‘censorship against women.’

“Hey @youtube – why’d you take down my video for Shake It? Is it because I’m having fun with @dangershewrote?” she captioned the post.

“Male artists always have women shaking ass in videos…why can’t we? Censorship against women needs to end!!! I’ll never stop fighting against this bulls***. Stay tuned. Also Congrats guys, you broke YouTube! 😈😤”

Video is Back

After the “Infamous” actress took to Instagram to share her feelings, her video was available again. YouTube crashed multiple times due to the amount of people trying to access the video.

Her “Shake It” video has over 1.5 million views and counting.

“I love my fans. They come through for me every time. I have so many diehards. When I see all these videos to everyone dancing on TikTok and Twitter, and they look happy, smile on heir face. It’s just like, ‘Perfect. That’s exactly what I wanted the song to do. I wanted it to make you smile and relax for a little bit,” she told People.

What It Means

When filming the music video, the “Chick Fight” actress and Instagram influencer stated that she wanted the video to represent what the song meant to her; having fun.

Not only did Thorne star in the video, she also took matters into her own hands and directed it as well. This is not the first time Thorne has worn the title of “director.” The actress won a Pornhub award for directing an adult film in 2019.

“I wanted to make sure that we had fun filming it, because I’m also directing. It was so important that the video represents what the song represents, which is fun,” she said.

Getting media and press attention is all part of the plan for Thorne. She has two new songs, two music videos and a TV show being released next month.
