Is Cardi B looking into making a change with her career? In a shocking turn of events, the Grammy-winning rapper recently tweeted out to her followers her political aspirations,

“I think I want to be a politician. I really love government even tho I don’t agree with Government.”

Cardi B continued with her possible new career move with wanting to go back into school to learn what it would take to be in Congress claiming she has “sooo much ideas.”

Many of Cardi B’s followers were incredibly supportive of her abrupt idea of a possible career move. Most responded with positive feedback and follow up questions on what her ideas were such as gun control.

This isn’t the first time Cardi B has expressed her love for politics. She’s notoriously known for being against President Trump and endorsing Bernie Sanders for president in 2016. During a 2018 GQ profile, Cardi B mentioned that she may not want a career in politics, but she would always be a concerned citizen , telling the outlet her fascination in political science, presidents and, the government. Cardi B discussed her love for political science and presidents—specifically Franklin D. Roosevelt. “First of all, he helped us get over the Depression, all while he was in a wheelchair. Like, this man was suffering from polio at the time of his presidency, and yet all he was worried about was trying to make America great—make America great again for real. He’s the real ‘Make America Great Again,’ because if it wasn’t for him, old people wouldn’t even get Social Security.”

After the story came out, Bernie Sanders tweeted out to his followers in response to her quote, “Cardi B is right. If we are really going to make America great we need to strengthen Social Security so that seniors are able to retire with the dignity they deserve.” (his tweet)

Despite massive support, Cardi B has been faced with criticism from the public with many believing she doesn’t belong in politics and claiming her passion for government is a joke since she is an “uneducated rapper,” according to trolls. One user tweeted out, “My left cheek is more fit to be a politician than you.” Trump supporters have also responded negatively, ironically many replying that celebrities do not belong in government.

But in true Cardi B form, she clapped back to all the trolls, as well as tweeting out again that she is always open for a friendly debate with anyone who was conservative and has opposite political views of her.

As the biggest female rapper in the music business, Cardi B’s political aspirations can greatly influence her young fans to open up explore their own political views and vote.
