Connecting with Loved Ones | Feel Good Friday’s W/ Liv Teixeira

Welcome to another episode of “Feel Good Fridays W/  Liv Teixeira!” In this episode our host, Liv, walks us through meaningful ways to connect  with family and friends from afar during this holiday season.

Liv acknowledges that now more than ever it is incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to visit family for the holidays due to Covid-19  travel restrictions.  However, she emphasizes that our relationships with others are the most important thing we have and it is incredibly important to lean on those we love during unprecedented times.

With the holiday season fast approaching many may be lost at how to accomplish connecting with those who mean the most in other cities, states or even countries. Liv Teixeira breaks down five simple tips for connecting with loved ones over the holidays!

Enjoy a Home Cooked Meal

Whether it be you who is the chef or someone you live with, enjoying a home cooked meal with those you love is so important. Liv explains that to make the most of this activity you should sit down with your meal and facetime loved ones. Eating together, even virtually, can be a wonderful connecting experience from far away!

Watch a Movie Together When Apart

Watching your favorite holiday movie during the season is a fun and memorable activity that should not be skipped. Liv suggests looking into Netflix Party to connect groups from far away onto the same streaming service. This feature allows different parties to stream the same movie at the same time!

Keep Your Traditions Going

Although we may not all be together to do the traditions we love most, it is still meaningful to connect over shared experiences. Liv shares  that keeping the beloved traditions alive will bring  joy during this holiday season. These activities can include putting up the tree, decorating your home and our host’s personal favorite, making Christmas sugar cookies!

The Season of Giving

To show your appreciation and love from miles apart our host suggests taking part in the season of giving. Sending someone something you love will remind them that you are thinking of them! The gift does not have to be extravagant or expensive. It can even be a simple card! What matters is not what you send, but that you remind those who matter that they are loved by you.

Have Genuine Conversations

Our host concludes this episode by sharing that genuine conversations are what fuels the love in a relationship. She encourages you to pick up the phone and either facetime or call your family and friends. Having meaningful conversations will bring you and your family closer than ever during this distant holiday season.
