Today on Dinner Is Served, we will be making some brownies from scratch! Personally, I have never made brownies from scratch but I am excited to give it a try! If you are like me then you have got the biggest sweet tooth. I honestly don’t understand people who don’t enjoy the super sweet things in life. You really can’t go wrong with chocolate, and brownies are the perfect dessert for after a meal or to satisfy your late night cravings!
So let’s get started!
Ingredients:
For the Brownies
- 1/2 cups of butter
- 1 cup of white sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
- Half a cup of all purpose flower
- 1/4 teaspoons of salt
- 1/4 teaspoons of baking powder
For the Frosting
- 3 tablespoons of butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 3 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 cup of confectioners’ sugar
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease and flower an 8-in. square pan.
- In a large pan, melt the half cup of butter. Once melted, remove from the heat and stir in with the sugar, eggs and teaspoon of vanilla extract. Beat in the 1/3 cup of cocoa powder, 1/2 cup of flour, salt and baking powder. Pour the batter into the 8-in. pan.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes.
- For the frosting, combine the 3 tablespoons of softened butter, 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder, honey, 1 teaspoon of the vanilla extract, and the 1 cup of confectioners’ sugar. Stir until it is smooth.
- Frost the brownies and enjoy!
