Dinner Is Served: Double Chocolate Brownies

Today on Dinner Is Served, we will be making some brownies from scratch! Personally, I have never made brownies from scratch but I am excited to give it a try! If you are like me then you have got the biggest sweet tooth. I honestly don’t understand people who don’t enjoy the super sweet things in life. You really can’t go wrong with chocolate, and brownies are the perfect dessert for after a meal or to satisfy your late night cravings! 

So let’s get started! 



For the Brownies

  • 1/2 cups of butter
  • 1 cup of white sugar 
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract 
  • 1/3 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Half a cup of all purpose flower
  • 1/4 teaspoons of salt 
  • 1/4 teaspoons of baking powder

For the Frosting

  • 3 tablespoons of butter, softened 
  • 1 tablespoon of honey 
  • 3 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract 
  • 1 cup of confectioners’ sugar 


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease and flower an 8-in. square pan. 
  2. In a large pan, melt the half cup of butter. Once melted, remove from the heat and stir in with the sugar, eggs and  teaspoon of vanilla extract. Beat in the 1/3 cup of cocoa powder, 1/2 cup of flour, salt and baking powder. Pour the batter into the 8-in. pan. 
  3. Bake for about 25-30 minutes. 
  4. For the frosting, combine the 3 tablespoons of softened butter, 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder, honey, 1 teaspoon of the vanilla extract, and the 1 cup of confectioners’ sugar. Stir until it is smooth. 
  5. Frost the brownies and enjoy!
