Fans Believe Taylor Swift is Collabing with Selena Gomez and Katy Perry

Swifties rejoice! Rumors are swirling that Taylor Swift has collaborated with Selena Gomez and Katy Perry for the re-release of her 2008 breakout album, “Fearless.”

Fearless (Taylor’s Version)

The “Shake it Off” singer promised to re-record her first six albums, following a series of spats with entertainment manager, Scooter Braun, over the ownership of Swift’s masters.

Braun previously owned, and recently sold, the rights to master recordings of any Swift album recorded prior to 2019’s “Lover.”

“Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” is the pop star’s effort to reclaim ownership over an iconic portion of her music catalog.

In addition to re-recording fan favorites like “You Belong with Me,” “Love Story” and “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” Swift will also release “songs from the vault” that didn’t make the album’s first cut.

The Evidence

While the re-release of “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” is still weeks away, that hasn’t stopped fans from wondering what type of new music (and famous voice) to expect this time.

On Twitter, fans have pointed to Selena Gomez’s social media behavior to support rumors that the two pop stars recorded a song together.

Fans also noticed Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty makeup line features a lip product named Fearless, a not-so-subtle homage to Swift’s first studio album.

Another clue? Fans were quick to note that the music video for Gomez’s newest single, “Selfish Love,” prominently features the number 13, Swift’s self-proclaimed lucky number.

Best Friends

Gomez has previously gushed about the possibility of collaborating with Swift, even calling the singer her “dream artist.”

“I’ll say there’s a few artists for sure, but I’ve always dreamt of doing a song with Taylor,” Gomez told the “Animal Crossing” video game talk show, “Animal Talking.”

“I mean, we both wanted to do that. It’s just—everything remains in our friendship, you know? And so, it’s so—It just feels like we’re family. I’ve known her for 13 or 14 years now. So she’s been my best friend. But we’ve talked about it for sure.”

The two pop stars have never collaborated on any music before, but they’ve always been in each other’s orbits.

“We actually dated the Jonas Brothers together! It was hysterical,” Gomez told Kiss FM UK. “It was amazing, because she was the girl with the big curly hair and all the bracelets and the cowboy boots. And I was definitely up-and-coming, and we just clicked.”

Swift shared similar feelings about her relationship with Gomez.

“Both of us have kind of stuck it out and hung in there through all the different changes we’ve gone through.” Swift dished in a past E! News interview.”Longevity is something you really can find very precious and rare in friendships.”

Former Foes, Fast Friends

While some fans — and the singers themselves — seem excited about a potential Swift-Gomez collaboration, other fans are waiting for news of Swift’s collab with another pop princess.

Katy Perry was once Taylor Swift’s most famous foe, due to drama regarding a mutual backup dancer. But in 2018, Perry ended the songstresses’ feud when she extended a literal olive branch to her fellow pop star. Perry later appeared in Swift’s “You Need To Calm Down” music video.

Now, Swifties and KatyCats have another reason to get along — new music!

Perry teased the possibility of a collaboration with her former frenemy on a recent episode of American Idol.

“Can you imagine if Taylor and I work together, what we could do,” Perry asked fellow judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.

After the episode aired, thousands of supporters took to Twitter to show they were here for a collaboration between the two singers.

While Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, and Selena Gomez have not officially confirmed or denied rumors, we will be sure to keep our fingers crossed!
