21 May Getting Over a Bad Day | Feel Good Fridays w/ Liv Teixeira
Welcome back to another episode of “Feel Good Fridays W/ Liv Teixeira.”
In this episode our host, Liv, is discussing how to get over a bad day. She reminds us of one of her favorite quotes, “Was it a bad day, or was it a bad moment?” She suggests that our bad moments can be turned around if we simply take steps to conquer them.
Some moments are challenging, and we can work towards a sense of gratitude to help us find the good in things. Liv shares her three tools to combat bad days. Process, reset, and move forward.
The first step in getting over a bad day is to process your emotions around what made the day bad. Think about what happened, what you felt, and why you felt that way. Get to the root of the emotion. Journal, talk to a friend, think.
The emotion might be sadness, anger, or any other negative feeling. If the feeling is anger, you might want to go to the gym to release the emotions. If it is sadness, try journaling.
Figure out the reason behind your ‘bad’ moment and begin to process it.
The second step is to do something to reset your emotions. Workout, go for a drive, walk, or even stretch. Do something that makes you feel whole, complete, or energized. The best strategies for resetting involve nature and physical body movements.
Leave your bad emotions at the door. There is no need to take the moment and make it into a bad day or bad night. After your feelings have been processed, this step can help you reset and begin to move on.
The last step to get through a bad day is to move forward from the bad moment. Most people skip to this step before doing any emotional work. By doing the emotional work first, you are able to move on with your day with a better mindset. At the end of the day, you want to feel good and be able to create the life that you want.
Move on without any ties to that situation. Be more present and productive in your life once you let go of the bad moments in your life.
