18 Dec How to Actually Achieve Your New Year’s Resolutions | Feel Good Fridays W/ Liv Teixeira
Welcome back to another episode of “Feel Good Fridays W/ Liv Teixeira!” In this week’s episode our host, Liv, discusses how to actually achieve our New Year’s resolutions!
In last week’s episode Liv explained she takes a “No bullshit approach” towards crafting resolutions and broke down the five areas where making a resolution is necessary. Now that we have our goals aligned for each of those categories, it is time to learn how to actually make them come true!
Hold Yourself Accountable
Our host begins by stating that we must hold ourselves accountable. She breaks this down into three departments of “what, when and who.” In order to achieve the “what” Liv encourages us to implement positive and negative reinforcements. Positive reinforcements can be going somewhere or doing something enticing. Negative reinforcements for not working towards our goal such as donating your clothes or donating money each time you don’t succeed in working towards your goal.
Liv continues by breaking down the “when.” When setting deadlines for progress at our goals she recommends monthly or quarterly goals, rather than weekly. By setting deadlines to reflect you are able to see crystal clear what you accomplished and what you did not.
Lastly in holding yourself accountable, Liv brings in the “who” element. By recruiting a friend and ally in this journey you both can go over what progress you each have made during these deadlines and hold one another accountable to keep at it.
Break it All Down
Next, Liv explains that aside from holding ourselves accountable we must ‘break it all down’ to fully understand and achieve our goals. By mapping out your goals and the action plans to follow there is no gray area to cloud the goal. Liv suggests we break down these larger ideas into quarterly plans and from there assign yourself daily goals to meet these quarterly goal points.
The Power of Manifestation
Our host concludes by praising manifestation and visualization in this process. By being there for you and showing up for yourself you can achieve your goals in all departments.
