Welcome back to another episode of “Feel Good Fridays W/ Liv Teixiera.”
In this episode our host, Liv, is discussing those times in our lives when we find ourselves in a slump. This is when you’re not feeling very productive, or you’re just not feeling your best, most positive self.
She describes what to do when you feel this way, and how to get out of that slump. This week, Liv shares three easy tips for how to get out of and even prevent a slump in your life.
The first way to avoid getting into or getting out of a slump is to engage in a calming activity. These are any activities that clear your head. Activities like meditation, stretching, or even taking a walk can help to calm the body and mind.
Liv suggests that one calming activity can be to take a long walk. You may have seen this concept on TikTok, where it is known as the ‘hot girl walk’. On this hot girl walk, only think positive, affirming thoughts. Use the time that you are feeling low to come back and connect with yourself.
Reflect with Yourself
The next suggestion that our host Liv gives is to take the time to reflect and connect with yourself.
This can be done by journaling and asking questions to connect with yourself. Ask things like “What is coming up?,” or, “Why are you in this slump?”
If there are people in your life that you trust, Liv suggests trying talk it out with them. Do whatever allows you to reflect on what has been going good and bad in your life.
She says to look inward and think about what you want to change. Sometimes the answer comes up while journaling, or while talking it out. Either way, reflect on the reasons for the current state that you are in.
Finally, Liv suggests starting your morning with an activation activity. This activity that challenges yourself should begin first thing in the morning so that you start your day feeling good.
Do an activity that makes you feel good about yourself. This can be physically or mentally challenging. When you’re done, you will feel good that you accomplished it.
Crossing something off of your checklist gives you more confidence. Getting to accomplish those tasks makes you proud of yourself.
Pay Attention to Physical Fitness
Physical health plays a large role in your mental health. Ashwagandha . Feel good on the inside to feel better on the outside.
One way to focus on physical health is to limit caffeine intake, and think about what you’re eating. Try taking vitamins and eating whole foods. Always drink water.
Investing in your health is always worth it.
