In today’s hectic world it can be difficult to recenter and remain calm. It is not always easy to know where to begin when it comes to finding peace in the chaos of daily life. That is why ENTScoop has started a new show with host, Liv Teixeira, titled “Feel Good Friday’s.” Each week Liv will break down different methods on how to be your best self and create positivity!
On this episode of “Feel Good Friday’s,” Liv discusses creating positivity in an overwhelming environment. Liv acknowledges that this week has been overwhelming to say the least from politics, to the media. It is so important to take steps for yourself during these chaotic times.
Helping Yourself to Help Others
Liv stresses the analogy “you must put your own oxygen mask on first before helping someone else.” It is important to be fulfilled in one’s self before you can help fulfill those around you. Making the world a better place starts with you internally. Liv emphasizes that it is so important to practice self love and self care in our daily routine. Though this may seem hard to do, our host gives four simple tips to apply in our daily lives!
Connect With People You Love
Our host explains that having genuine and meaningful conversations with those in our lives who mean the most can make a big impact! It is important to reconnect with others, like family and friends.
Move Your Body
Liv also suggests moving your body! Our mind, body and spirit are all interconnected! Liv shares that getting grounded with nature and moving your body in any way that feels natural will make a big difference! She suggests easy ways to get active, like doing yoga, going for a walk outside or even taking a workout class!
Do Something To Downshift
According to our host, it is extremely important to downshift! She explains that downshifting is anything that allows you to calm down and decompress from chaos. Suggestions for downshifting activities can include reading a book, watching a TV show or getting creative! Liv shares that her favorite activity to downshift is simply going for a nice drive in the car! Something so simple can often bring us back to a calm and centered state.
Do Something Alone
Lastly, she suggests doing something by yourself during the day! This can be journaling, meditating, reading a book or simply taking time alone. Our host reminds us that it is so important to give yourself that extra bit of love!
