Jennifer Lopez Contemplates Marrying Alex Rodriguez

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriquez have canceled their wedding plans for the second time. After getting engaged in March 2019, they planned to get married in  Italy in June but have since canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.

Rethinking a Wedding

The 51-year-old singer and actress has opened up and discussed the details about her failing wedding plans. She stated that there is “definitely no rush” when it comes to the wedding with her 45-year-old retired MLB star fiancée. While talking to Andy Cohen, the host of SiriusXM on the show Radio Andy,” she shared details about their decision to get married or not.

While trying to rework their wedding plans after canceling their destination wedding in Italy, they considered not getting married at all. She states that they considered following in the footsteps of other unmarried longtime Hollywood couples, but felt that marriage was important to both of them.

“Oh yeah, we’ve talked about that for sure. I mean at our age, we’ve both been married before, it’s like: Do we get married? Do we not? What does it mean for us? And it’s just, it comes down to like personal [choice], like: What do you want to do?” said Jennifer.

Cancellations

However, Jennifer is disappointed in not being able to have her wedding this June in gorgeous Italy. She explained that it makes her ‘really sad’ and is upset about the amount of time and money they put into it.

“In March or April, we’re looking down the pipe and we’re going, ‘This is maybe not going to happen. Italy is the worst place in the world and we’re going to get married there,” said J. Lo, “I was like, ‘OK, we got to cancel everything… so we canceled it.”

After canceling the June wedding, they expected to be able to push it off till the end of the year. With COVID-19 infections spreading and not getting any better, they were forced to wait off on rescheduling for 2020.

Looking Towards the Future

J. Lo stated that after having to continuously push off the wedding, they considered if they should even go through with it. She explains that getting married still feels important to them and their relationship and are not going to rush the wedding, but let everything happen when the time is right.

Everything happens for a reason and will work itself out when the time is right! Hopefully J. Lo and A. Rod are able to have their beautiful Italian wedding in the near future. True love survives anything, even COVID-19!
