16 Oct Kristen Bell Opens Up After Dax Shepard’s Relapse
Kristen Bell opened up in a virtual interview with Ellen Degeneres about her husband’s relapse after 16 years of sobriety.
She said that Shepard is doing better now that they put new boundaries to keep this from happening again.
“He is doing great. Everybody is up against their demons,” Bell said. “Sometimes, it’s anxiety and depression. Sometimes it’s substance abuse.”
Bell opened up about her relationship with Shepard and said that what she loves most about him is that he can open up to her about anything and how he knows when to ask for help.
The two are working on finding a new strategy to combat this issue and work their way back to a better place. They are using therapy and other measures to help fix Shepard’s problems with addiction.
“I will continue to stand by him because he’s very, very worth it,” Bell said.
Shepard recently received an outpour of love from the public and his fans. He expressed his gratitude for that during his journey towards recovery.
“I want to say thanks to all the people that have been so unbelievably lovely to us,” Shepard said.
Shepard expressed that he’s felt a sense of relief, saying, “My fears were the opposite of what the result was,” before he admitted that he’s “struggling with some fraudulent feelings of receiving love based on a f— up.”
