Local Restaurants and Bars Opening Summer 2020 in L.A.

Los Angeles County has slowly started to lift many coronavirus health restrictions by allowing more businesses to reopen so long as they meet required safety protocols. Businesses set to reopen include bars, wineries, breweries, nail salons, massage therapy services, tattoo parlors, body art studios, piercing shops, and cosmetology businesses. Here are a few bars and restaurants that will be open if you’re ready for a safe outing! 

1.     Alta

Soul food restaurant located in South L.A. Hours vary depending on the day.

2.     Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles

Located in South L.A., this local soul food restaurant serving chicken and waffles is open for dine-in every weekday from 7:30 AM-3 PM, and every weekend from 7:30 AM-8PM.

3.     El Cholo

Serving Mexican-style food in Koreatown, all El Cholo locations are now open for dine-in from 12PM-8PM!

4.     Jjukku Jjukku Korean BBQ

This Korean BBQ restaurant is located in Koreatown and is open for dine-in from 11AM-2AM with limited capacity.

5.     Antigua Bread

The Guatemalan American Café in Highland Park is open for dine-in on weekdays from 7AM-8PM, and weekends from 8AM-5PM. Antigua Bread serves breakfast, signature Guatemalan plates, baked goods, and coffee.

6.     El Pescador

This restaurant, also located in Highland Park, serves Mexican Seafood, margaritas, beer, and cocktails from 9AM-10PM on weekdays, and 8AM-11PM on weekends.

Only bars inside of restaurants have been allowed to reopen; bars that do not serve food are still closed until they can safely reopen. They also must follow safety protocols, including enforcing the use of face masks and a physical 6 feet distance between people sitting in the bar area. Lounges and nightclubs still remained closed.
