New Holiday Movies Released This Year!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The holiday season is in full swing, and the best way to celebrate is with a cup of hot chocolate, and a holiday movie. Holiday movies have always been one of my favorite parts of the holidays.

They capture the spirit of the holiday season and bring you so much joy! Here is a list of new holiday movies that were released this year so you can celebrate the holiday season from home!


Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey star in this hilarious holiday rom-com! The two decide to be each other’s dates for every holiday party, and a romance between the two blooms.

This movie not only covers the Christmas season, but also many other holidays in the year! This movie is so funny and a great addition to your holiday movie list this year. To stream this flick you can watch on Netflix!

‘The Princess Switch: Switch Again’

This sequel to the 2018 Netflix Film “The Princess Switchcontinues the story of newly princess Stacy and Lady Margaret, the next in line for the throne of Montenaro. In this film both characters are played by the incredible Vanessa Hudgens.

In the original movie, the two discover that they look identical, and decide to switch lives. In the sequel, they switch again! To see this festive sequel you can watch on Netflix!

‘Happiest Season’

Kristen Stewart and Mackenzie Davis star in this holiday rom-com about meeting your significant other’s family, coming out, and popping the important question. In this film, A young woman plans to propose to her girlfriend at her family’s Christmas party, but soon discovers that her partner hasn’t come out to her conservative parents yet. 

This holiday film tells a new story of Christmas with your significant other and is a must watch! To check out this movie you can watch on Hulu!

‘Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey’

This holiday musical follows the story of Jeronicus Jangle ,played by Forest Whitaker. Jeronicus Jangle is an inventor and toymaker, who was betrayed decades ago by his trusted apprentice.

Jangle’s holiday is changed for the better when his granddaughter shows up at his doorstep. This adorable musical is the perfect family holiday movie! To enjoy this magical film you can watch on Netflix!

Dolly Parton’s ‘Christmas on the Square’

This Christmas film was directed by star, Debbie Allen, and produced by Allen and Dolly Parton. This heart-felt Christmas musical follows the story of a woman,played by Christine Baranski, who plans to sell a small town, without thinking about the consequences for the people who live there.

Baranski’s character is then visited by an angel, played by Dolly herself, who explains the wrongdoings in her actions. To see the iconic Dolly Parton in this film you can watch on Netflix!

‘The Christmas Setup’

Lifetime is finally releasing its first-ever LGBTQ+ romance film! This holiday film follows the story of a New York lawyer, played by Ben Lewis, returning home to Milwaukee for the holiday season.

The young lawyer reunites with his high school crush, played by Blake Lee, and his mother, played by Fran Drescher, is using this holiday season as a chance to play match-maker between the two. This holiday film is part of the Wonderful Lifetime movie block that airs during the month of December!
