Happy New Music Friday! This week was full of new releases. Check out this week’s new music released by Bebe Rexha, iann dior, Kygo, and more.
Young Stoner Life, Young Thug & Gunna ‘Slime Language 2’
Young Thug has released “Slime Language 2.” The album features an impressive number of rappers.
Among the guests are Drake, Future, Travis Scott, Big Sean, Kid Cudi, Meek Mill, Lil Uzi Vert, Skepta, Lil Baby, Sheck Wes, and NAV.
This compilation follows 2018’s “Slime Language.”
Bebe Rexha ‘Sabotage’
Bebe Rexha has released her latest single “Sabotage” off of her upcoming album. “Better Mistakes” is expected to be released on May 7. Of the new song, Rexha says, “‘Sabotage’ is one of the most vulnerable songs on my new album. It’s just as beautiful as it is painfully honest. I admit to getting in my own way when things are going well.”
The emotional lyrics “Why do I sabotage everything I love? /It’s always beautiful until I f**k it up,” pretty much sum up how it feels to be the reason for the downfall of your relationships.
iann dior ft. Trippie Redd ‘shots in the dark’
Iann Dior has just released “Shots in the Dark” on his new two-pack of songs “Still Here.”
The song features rapper Trippie Redd. Teaming up on 2019’s “Gone Girl,” Redd and Dior have already proven they work great together.
Both emotional tracks on “Still Here” reflect Iann’s evolving sound and showcase the 22-year-old embracing his youth.
Coming off of a successful 2020 and looking ahead, Dior knows what he wants to accomplish in 2021. “A number one Billboard album is up next…I want to become the Number One artist in the world, and I am fully determined and obsessed with being the greatest,” he said in a statement.
Kygo ft. James Gillespie ‘Gone Are The Days’
Despite there being no deficit of Kygo activity, Kygo jokingly asked for a minimum of 10 Instagram comments. “Gone Are The Days” has been released in two forms.
The vocal backing of James Gillespie are found on the “Gone Are The Days” reading where Kygo directly taps into his orchestral credentials.
Since one version just wasn’t enough, Kygo supplements “Gone Are The Days” with a pure piano-driven rendition, subbing out Gillespie’s vocals to rawly reimagine the original.
Regard, Troye Sivan, & Tate McRae ‘You’
Troye Sivan teased the song “You” earlier this month. His new song features singer Tate McRae in collaboration with DJ and producer Regard.
“So much love today,” Sivan tweeted, along with the single, Thursday night, after repeatedly teasing the track on his TikTok. The song is Sivan’s first release since his “Easy” remix by Mark Ronson featuring Kacey Musgraves.
“You” is another perfect addition for your Music to Dance and Cry to playlist.
Girl in Red ‘You Stupid Bitch’
Norwegian singer/songwriter/producer Marie Ulven, better known as girl in red, is releasing her debut album. “i could make it go quiet” will be coming out at the end of this month. Her new song “You Stupid Bitch,” is the first single off of this upcoming album.
In a statement, Marie said, “There’s a line from this movie I love, “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” that goes ‘we accept the love we think we deserve.’ It’s a very heartbreaking line, but it’s really what i was experiencing in this situation, where I was always there for this person who would get their heart broken, and I would just come running.” She continues, “That person would never see me as anything else than just a friend, even though I feel like I could have made her so happy.”
This track highlights exactly how that felt for the singer.
Julia Michaels ‘Love is Weird’
Singer-songwriter Julia Michaels has announced that her highly anticipated debut album “Not In Chronological Order” will be released on April 30. Ahead of its arrival, Michaels has shared her latest single “Love Is Weird.”
Written by Michaels, the song speaks about her experiences with love. “Tattoos on my arm / Still scared of forever / Keep my ex’s letters / In the third door of my dresser,” she sings over the song’s airy production
iLoveMakonnen & PayDay ‘Whoopsy’
PAYDAY has joined forces with ILoveMakonnen on the new track, “Whoopsy”. The track appears on ILoveMakonnen’s new album, “My Parade”, which is also out today.
Speaking about the collaboration, PAYDAY reveals, “Thank you to the legend Makonnen for having me on this track and his debut album. I heard the line ‘I lost your hoe and now you know’ and it spoke to my soul.”
