Happy New Music Friday! And as usual, this week was full of new music that did not disappoint!
Check out some of our favorite new releases by artists such as Dermot Kennedy, the Kid LAROI, Billie Eilish, and more!
Dermot Kennedy ‘Better Days’
Irish singer-songwriter, Dermot Kennedy released his new song,”Better Days.” This track features lyrics that can be relatable on all levels and provide support with the stresses of everyday life. Although it speaks to the darkness that we may have to encounter, it offers a message of hope to those listening, saying that brighter days will be had.
“Better Days” is the singer’s first smash-hit since his release of “Giants” in 2019. Since the release of his number one selling debut album, “Without Fear,” Dermot Kennedy has quickly become a music superstar with over 15 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
The Kid LAROI ‘BEST FOR ME’
17-year-old The Kid LAROI has taken the music industry by storm, and he isn’t expected to slow down any time soon! On the heels of his smash hit, “STAY,” featuring Justin Bieber, is yet another great track, “BEST FOR ME.”
In this song, the Australian rapper and singer focuses on self love after dealing with the damage of a toxic relationship, a message we can all get behind this summer!
Although no music video has been released yet, an official audio video has been and fans are going wild, calling it his best hit yet!
We have a feeling that “BEST FOR ME” might give “STAY” a run for it’s money as the current number one song on Spotify.
Billie Eilish ‘Happier Than Ever’
The wait for the new Billie Eilish album is finally over! And if I have learned one thing this year, it is that blonde-haired Billie is been full of surprises. The new album will feature 16 tracks, including singles such as “Therefore I am,” “Your Power,” and “NDA.”
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Eilish said, “I don’t know how to explain this, but all the songs on the album feel like a specific time, because they feel like when I wrote them and made them. It’s so funny that to the rest of the world it’s going to feel like a certain moment for them, and it’s going to be so different than mine,” she explained. “That’s such a weird, weird thing to wrap my head around. And I will f*cking love it. I love it. That’s the reason you do this. It’s for that.”
Silk Sonic ‘Skate’
When it comes to music, Bruno Mars really is the gift that keeps on giving! So, I don’t think that I even need to try and convince you that his new release, “Skate” is of top-tier quality. Featured with singer Anderson .Paak, the R&B duo, Silk Sonic, is back at it with a song that will be sure to get you up on your feet and dancing to the beat!
In all seriousness, I don’t think you could have a bad day after starting your morning off with this song. The music video brings back groovy 70s nostalgia that will make you eager to go out and buy a pair of roller skates
Logic ‘Bobby Tarantino III’
Logic is back after only a year-long retirement! Last July, the rapper told fans that his sixth studio album “No Pressure” would be his last, as he focused his energy towards being the best dad he could to son, Bobby. He then announced the arrival of the third installment, “Bobby Tarantino III” earlier this week.
Logic had been dropping a single every week for the past month, but today the whole project can be streamed. In his song “Theme For The People,” the Maryland-based rapper can be heard touching on topics such as his retirement and police brutality. “Bobby Tarantino III” has already reached a top five position on Itunes.
Dan + Shay ‘Lying’
Last but not least, is a great new release for all of the country music lovers out there! Dan+Shay’s “Lying” is one of the 12 songs that will be featured on the dynamic duo’s upcoming album, “Good Things,” set for its debut on August 13th.
In the “Lying” music video released Thursday night, the comments speak for themselves in regards to how much fans are loving the new tune. There’s even a scene where Shay is seen ordering tequila before the song begins, an iconic reference to a past hit of theirs. “Tequila” was a heartbreak anthem focused on missing someone you lost, but this new song is about getting over those feelings and moving on!
