21 Nov New Music Releases!
This week brought so much new music with it. Here are some highlights of the best new songs and albums that you need to know about this week. Buckle up and get your headphones ready!
Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘Good News’
The best news of today is that Megan Thee Stallion dropped a complete studio album, “Good News.” It features songs that you know and love like “Savage Remix” with Beyonce and “Girls in the Hood.” The rest of the album does not disappoint. The other songs deliver some twerkable, girl power feels. With this album, Megan Thee Stallion reminds us exactly why we love her. The album opens with the song “Shots Fired” and her spilling the tea on the controversy that she has been dealing with. Meg was shot in the foot, allegedly by Tory Lanez earlier this year.
Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa’s ‘Prisoner’
Miley Cyrus’ new album “Plastic Hearts” is set to be released on November 27. Today she released the single “Prisoner” with Dua Lipa. Miley Cyrus’ new album has been long awaited. Her marketing for this album has exceeded many of her past albums. The anticipation is real. As is evident in her “Midnight Sky” video, the songs on this upcoming album draw a lot from 80s sounds and style. In the very hot video Miley and Dua Lipa are having an 80s style party on a tour bus. At the end of the video “In Loving Memory of All My Exes,” shows up on the screen. I’m sure they aren’t feeling so great after watching that video!
Bugsy Malone’s ‘Don’t Cry’
“Don’t Cry,” the new single from the master Bugzy Malone, is out now. Dermot Kennedy lends his voice to the song. The video is premiering now on YouTube, and the track is available to listen to everywhere!
Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber’s ‘Monster’
My crush on Justin Bieber has not subsided over the past ten years. Seeing him with Shawn Mendes was a whole new treat. This collaboration ends the rumors that the two hate each other. Mendes used to date Hailey Bieber; the two even went to The Met Gala together. Baldwin was engaged to Bieber only two months after the Met Gala date. The pair seemed to have patched up any issues that they had with each other. Mendes and Bieber’s new song was released today and It is about their shared experiences of growing up in the limelight.
Morgan Wallen’s ‘Somebody’s Problem’
Morgan Wallen, an up and coming country singer released another single, “Somebody’s Problem” off of his upcoming album, “Dangerous: The Double Album.” A great song if you have been listening to “7 Summers” nonstop since its release. Wallen was recently named artist of the year at the 2020 CMA Awards. The full album will be released in January 2021. The album will feature 30 tracks spanning two discs.
BTS’ ‘Life Goes On’
The title track “Life Goes On” is a song about this year and how when things get hard you gotta remember that life goes on. It was a self produced album, which basically means that all of BTS’ members had a major role in making this album. K-pop record labels usually take the majority, if not all, of the creative freedoms that come to music videos, directing, writing songs, producing songs, promotional photo shoots, and styling. But all seven members got to do it themselves this time. Another song on the album titled “Skit” is the actual audio of the members when they found out that “dynamite” got #1 on the billboard chart.
“Dis-ease” is about mental health and how it makes you feel. “Stay” is about how even without concerts and in-person promotions of their music, their fans stay with them. All the songs entered the top 10 on iTunes already, and their album is #1 on iTunes. Overall the album starts off comforting but sad, and then after “skit” it gets really upbeat and happy, even if the lyrics are sad. I suggest you give it a listen! My personal faves are “dis-ease,” “stay” and “life goes on”. The overall angle with this album is a little different than what they’ve done in the past, but it really ties into their discography well. It feels like a warm hug!
Gucci Mane’s ‘Trap God Classics’
Gucci Mane released a collection of all of his classic hits. It features songs such as “I Got the Bag” and “Both.” This album is released in the wake of Gucci’s rap battle with Jeezy.
Harry Hudson’s ‘Hey I’m Here for You’
Harry Hudson became popular through his friendship with the famous Kylie Jenner and her older sister, Kourtney Kardashian. Kardashian and Hudson are still very close. He is also a very talented singer. His album, “Hey, I’m Here for You,” was released this week. Hudson is an amazing storyteller, and I highly suggest listening to his songs.
Kali Uchis’ ‘Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios)’
This is the Columbian singer’s first bilingual album in English and Spanish. It features PARTYNEXTDOOR and Rico Nasty. So to be frank, the album is incredible to say the least!
