Our Favorite Girl Power Podcasts
I’ve always loved podcasts and this pandemic has proven now to be the perfect time to add some new podcasts to your routine. I mean, a sane person can only watch so many hours of Netflix, although I might also be proving that sentiment wrong. Here are some phenomenal female-focused podcasts to keep you productive, supported, entertained and inspired in a troubling time.
The Him and Her podcast is hosted by wife and husband duo Lauryn Evarts and Michael Bosstick. Together they created the Dear Media network which helps individuals conceptualize, develop and produce customized podcasts with a personalized touch and an emphasis on female hosts and voices. Their mission statement is placing women, their stories and narratives, at the forefront of conversation. “On this show you’ll find a mix of audio entertainment including interviews with celebrities, entrepreneurs, influencers, experts, and thought leaders. You will also hear listener and audience questions answered on a weekly basis to answer questions on health, wellness, business, branding, marketing, and relationships.” You can listen to the Him & Her podcast here.
The Bitch Bible with Jackie Schimmel is a breath of fresh air amidst a sea of instagram influencers in the podcasting game, “a podcast that dares to say what many are thinking, but only a bitch would say. Expect unfiltered and unapologetic discussions about sex, millenial struggles, pop culture, social faux-pas and hopefully, an insightful takeaway. Nothing is off limits.” Listen to The Bitch Bible here.
Girlboss Radio is perfect for the girl making moves to become her own CEO. Hosted by Sophia Amaruso who started the fashion empire Nasty Gal and who’s own success story was the inspiration for a Netflix show under the same name also has a foundation who’s purpose is to create a new reality where women can make progress personally, professionally, and in service of others. “Each week on Girlboss Radio, you’ll hear honest conversations with trailblazing women. These women go deep on what it takes to build a successful career or grow a business with staying power — while living life on their own terms and navigating personal and professional curveballs.” Listen to Girlboss Radio here.
Comediennes Nicole Byer and Sasheer Zamata partner together in Best Friends, a podcast of friendship. Byer and Zamata regularly invite other best friend duos in discussion. A lovely podcast to listen to if you need some women supporting women in your life. Listen to Best Friends here.
