Scoop Sorority: Skincare For The Whole Crowd!

Summertime can do a number on your skin — with the sun beaming on your face and sweat clogging up pores. Not to mention, we have extra added stress with the pandemic and everything else happening, which can also destroy skin! It’s best to show your skin some extra love around this time with a good skincare routine!

Here are some of our favorite skincare products.

Lush 9 to 5 Cream – $10.95+

I am going to say this as loud as possible: GET RID OF YOUR MAKEUP WIPES! They’re doing nothing but damaging your skin and the environment! Use micellar water or a makeup removing cream to get your makeup off. This cream one is my favorites to melt off my makeup. It leaves my skin feeling fresh and gently washed. It’s vegan, cruelty free, and includes dove orchid extracts, almond oil, and yang-ylang oil.

Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser – $9+

This “gentle–yet–effective” cleanser gives a nice glow to all skin types, while being really gentle and not giving the feeling of tightness. Its noncomedogenic (meaning it won’t clog pores), vegan, and cruelty free.

Lush Magic Crystals Scrub – $17.95+

This exfoliant smells like peppermint magic and scrubs like a dream! Not only can this purple lather be used to exfoliate the face, but put it on your body to do the same. This product is vegan and cruelty free.

Glossier Solution Toner & Zit Stick – $30 (if ordering together)

The Solution toner is one of the best products I’ve bought in a very long time. It has a blend of skincare acids including: Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA), and Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA). These lift dead skin that is stuck to your skin, so it literally smooths out your skin after time. The product does burn a little bit, but it’s worth the tingles!

The Zit Stick is the lifesaver of all of these products. It’s a portable bottle, almost like a Tide To-Go Stick, that you can twist the end of and a mixture of tea tree oil, capryloyl salicylic acid, and 5% benzoyl peroxide shrinks pimples and gets rid of the germs that cause them. It’s so helpful when there’s a huge pimple you don’t want to pop!

Volition Beauty Celery Green Cream – $55

This product is definitely one of the pricer ones that I use during my skincare routine, but it’s so worth it. I tend to get very irritated and sensitive skin, so this cream helps reduce redness and calms down any irritation. It lasts a really long time. The sample I had of this cream lasted me a year because a little goes a long way, so it’s definitely worth the price, if you want to put out for it!

Glossier Bubble Wrap Eye & Lip Cream – $26

This is another product that lasts a lifetime for me. This cream includes hyaluronic acid, squalane, and avocado oil, plus antioxidant-rich blueberry extract, so it makes your eyes and lips look full and hydrated after time. It really does work and it gets rid of any overnight dark circles after 2 to 3 days.

Sun Bum SPF 50 Face Cream – $12.99

Sunscreen is such an important part of your skincare regimen because it protects your skin from harmful UV rays from the sun. It’s good to be able to get a tan, but you don’t want to run the risk of skin cancer later on. Always wear SPF. It doesn’t matter the brand. Just make sure you’re wearing it!
