Six Beach Essentials You Need for Your Next Outing

Going to the beach is a great summer getaway and time to spend with loved ones, family and friends. You get to kick back and relax in the sand, surf and swim in the cool ocean or even build sandcastles.Whatever your preference may be, here are six essentials you need for your next beach outing!

Big Beach Towel/Blanket

Establishing a place and having a beach towel or blanket is pertinent for lying and tanning in the sand.

Always make sure to bring a something that stands out with a pattern of your choice. Not only will it help you remember where you are on the beach, but it can provide a spunky photo opportunity spot for your social media page. Make sure your towel is big enough to give you some room to get comfy on the sand!

Umbrella

An umbrella is also a must on your beach adventure, but remember to secure it in the sand so it doesn’t fly away on a windy day.

On days where the UV index is highly increasing, or if you have a sensitivity to heat and burn easily, an umbrella is something you definitely want to pack with you. While the beaming sun is great and exuberant, the shade is just as important to give your baking skin a break.

Sunscreen and/or Tanning Oil

Although the shade is efficient in protecting you against the sun’s rays, sunscreen is still absolutely necessary,  especially for those who like to lounge in the sun.

Pick a sunscreen of at least 30  SPF to protect against strong UV rays.

For some people, tanning oil is another essential to pack in your beach tote  if you want to achieve that sun-kissed look.

All skin types are different so whether you decide to lather yourself in sunscreen or tanning oil, it’s all up to you. A good rule of thumb for sun tanning is to lay out for 30 minutes, 15 minutes on the front and 15 minutes on the back.

Cooler with Water

Hydration is key, especially if you plan to spend the day in the sun and heat which can cause excess sweating and exhaustion.

Bringing a small cooler packed with water can keep you feeling good and replenished. Remember, The sun is notorious for taking a lot out of you, even if you are not moving around.

If you are not feeling thirsty, reach into your cooler and grab a water bottle anyway because thirst is one of the first signs of dehydration.

Sunglasses/Hat

If you want something stylish to protect yourself, your eyes and your face from the sun, bringing sunglasses and/or a hat is favorable. Depending on your preference, these face protectants can help you see better and cool you down.

Similar to your funky beach towel, you can jazz up these accessories to take some photos for your Instagram.

Speaker

Last but certainly not least, bring a speaker.

Music always brightens everyone’s mood and can turn your beach day into a dance party. Whether you’re with your friends or family, music can be the perfect background noise while you soak up the sun
