27 Jul Tampons, Diva Cups & And More! Oh My!
If you menstruate, you understand the discomfort that comes along with your period. You think you might have stained your clothes, the rush of blood coming down makes you feel icky and maybe your cramps just won’t let up. I get it, I genuinely do. Today, let’s talk about some things that might make that time of the month a little easier on you. I am a grown woman but I swear I just started using tampons. Those alone have changed my life.
So, first and foremost, if you haven’t already started using tampons, I highly suggest you give them a try. This catches the blood before it has a chance to come down. You have no idea how much cleaner you will feel. They have definitely helped me ease my mind during my period too!
I have never used a Diva Cup. I mean, I just started using tampons. Diva Cups feel like a Level 2 and I’m not ready. They are reusable, which is better for the environment, odor-free, leak-free ,and provide you with up to 12 hours of protection. When you’re ready to pull it out all you need to do is wash it with some warm water and you can use it again!
This one kind of blows my mind. It is supposed to hold up to five times as much blood as tampons or pads. So, it reduces your carbon footprint. Apparently, it also allows you to have sex while on your period which is a major plus. My only question I guess would be, I don’t know, HOW?!? It looks so tiny so how can it hold that much blood?! It’s mind boggling but also I’m so intrigued at the same time.
This is basically a reusable pad. But, because it is 100% cotton and does not have the fragrance and chemicals that pads and tampons have, it may help reduce your cramps. You simply click it to your underwear and once you feel like it is time for a change you can throw it in the washer.
It’s not a diaper. But, yes that is where my mind went too. It is basically underwear that you can use on its own on one of your lighter days or as a back up on one of your heavier days along with other products (an additional pad or tampon). This seems like something I’d be interested in because sometimes I don’t like to feel the bulkiness of a pad and wish I could just wear my underwear on its own. If you’re like me, check it out!
