TikTok trends seemingly start out of nowhere until they are all over your FYP. Here’s a list of some TikTok trends from this week that you should definitely try with your friends!
I Can’t Talk Right Now
This trend is one of my favorites right now. It starts out with you answering a fake phone saying, “I can’t talk right now, I’m doing hot girl sh*t.” Then, fast forward to the “hot girl shit” in question. You can show yourself being hot or make it funny. Addison Rae has done her twist on both of these options!
It’s only funny if you’re doing something that is the opposite of traditionally hot. For example, it might be you playing Among Us on your phone. You can make this video on your own, or include some friends in the hot girl activities. Search for the sound “busy doing hot girl ish” to start making your TikTok.
This or That
The “This or That” TikTok trend is popular right now among celebrities and influencers. Ariana Grande’s brother, Frankie Grande. Kylie and Kendall Jenner made a ‘This or That’ video with questions like “Going Out vs. Staying In” and “Supermodel vs Instagram Model.”
To make your own ‘This or That’ TikTok, write two choices at the top of the video and everyone walk to the side that their choice is on.
I’m a Ghost
Use the out of body TikTok screen effect to turn yourself into a ghost. The effect allows you to virtually leave your body, do a little dance, then try to catch yourself in your body again. Stars like Wiz Khalifa have recently gotten in on this trend.
Body Ody
The song “Body” by Megan Thee Stallion is being used for tons of videos on TikTok right now. There are a few trends associated with this song. There is a classic TikTok dance which Meg posted using the hashtag #bodyodychallenge.
If dancing isn’t your thing the sound has also been used for showing off your body, or just putting the sound over anything that you want to people to see! Charlie D’Amelio just used the sound to remind everyone to thank and love their bodies.
Omegle
TikTok and YouTube star, Larray just posted a video of him and his friends going on Omegle. Omegle was a popular site when I was young. It is a website that allows you to video chat with people online. People have been going on Omegle and recording their interactions.
If you and your bestie are spending a weekend in, you can still have some fun conversations with people via the internet. I’ve seen videos of people tell jokes, practice their magic tricks, or just ask some funny questions.
