On June 18th, UOMA Founder, Sharon Chuter, launched her new product. UOMA by Sharon C for Walmart was celebrated by celebrities, music stars, and the biggest names in beauty and social media. We were lucky enough to be at this event in person to talk to Sharon Chuter herself!

Sharon Schuter’s new beauty line has been launched exclusively with Walmart

The Event

The UOMA Pride Month & Juneteenth Celebration Launch Event for UOMA by Sharon C for Walmart was produced by Sharon Chuter. Chuter is the CEO, Founder & Creative Director of the black-owned beauty brand.

This highly anticipated event took place on Friday, June 18 and was attended by some of the hottest celebrities and biggest names in beauty and social media. The event was held at Hyde Sunset. 

Not only did this event celebrate Black success and PRIDE, but it was also an eco-friendly event! There was an eco-friendly carpet to open the carbon-neutral event. This ensured the event is sustainable, addresses social and environmental issues, and positively impacts the community.

At midnight, the Juneteenth festivities began with an HBCU marching band, carnival dancers,  giveaways, a station with jewelry artists, and a surprise performance by Wiz Khalifa. 

Appearances

Celebrity attendees included performer Wiz Khalifa. Ashlee Simpson arrived with her husband Evan Ross. Also in attendance were Jordyn Woods and Elizabeth Woods, Slick Woods, Mario Lopez, Jasmine Tookes, Madison Pettis, Joy Osmanski, Rita Ora, Max Talisman, Dana Vaughns, Jasmine Tookes, Lisa Yaro, Lindsey Shaw, and Sarah Jones among others.

Bringing bold new ideas to an industry stuck in its ways, Sharon Chuter is revolutionizing the beauty world as the founder of two wildly successful viral initiatives. Pull Up For Change and Make it Black spotlight the need for increased representation in corporate America and supports Black founders through small business impact funds. In the wake of Black Lives Matter protests, #PullUpForChange asked companies to share the number of Black employees on their payrolls in the act of transparency and unity. 

Sharon told us that she was very excited to be at the event!
